On September 29, 2018, His Holiness, Pope Francis invited the faithful from throughout the world, to pray the Holy Rosary every day of the Marian month of October and “to conclude the recitation of the Rosary with the Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel, who protects and helps us in the fight against evil.” (Cf. Rev. 12:7-12). The Holy See’s communiqué regarding Pope Francis’ invitation is available at: www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2018-09/pope-francis-pray-rosary-october.html

In addition to concluding the Holy Rosary with these prayers, some parishes also have prayed these prayers at the conclusion of Holy Mass. The Diocese has received several requests from parishes and parishioners for he practice of these prayers to continue, particularly the Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel after the conclusion of Holy Mass, now that the month of October has concluded.

The Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
By the power of God, cast into hell Satan, And all the evil spirits, Who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen
