Ministry of Hospitality (Greeters and Ushers)
Welcome one another, then,
as Christ welcomed you, for the glory of God.
– Letter to the Romans 15:7, NAB
To a visitor, a greeter/usher provides the first impression of what a parish might be. Greeters and ushers welcome person who enter the church, assist them in locating seating, take up the collection at the weekend Masses and also assist in handling the collection after Mass. Greeters and ushers must be attentive to the needs of the congregation during liturgical celebrations so that they may assist someone who becomes ill and call for medical assistance, if needed. A greeters/usher must be a welcoming person, able to greet graciously the Christ in others and genuinely engage with others.
